Presidential Debates (culture article)

I love election season – there is nothing better than 30 career polititans full of hot air stroking their own egos and filling Americans full of shit.  Last night the Dems sparred in NH.  I have to tell you, there was only 1 honest guy up there and that was the whacky guy on the end next to Clinton who questioned everybody and challenged them. Clinton looked fake and Obama made no sense half the time and was very poised the other half. 

What gets under my craw about these “Debates” is that they are not debates. At very few points were the candidates actually going back and forth with facts and figures as you would expect. Additionally, most of them would start on topic for 10 seconds and end with “Bush is an asshole” and “Let’s get out of Iraq.”  The questions lobbed are the same shitty recycled questions from every debate and so as a voter, I have no new information to go on and choose an appropriate candidate.  Last night furthered no agenda (other than Joe Biden, who we got it – you sponsored a bill people voted for…) and offered no solutions.  I was however deeply offended by the last serious question “what is your favorite bible verse?” Who gives a fuck! We want to know how our country is going to improve – not how you pray.
