Washro
Rock
Hoffman estates, Illinois, United States
Washro is a five piece, hard-rock band that was started in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Washro’s sound originates in part from the old school book, with accolades to Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, and Guns N’ Roses. Some of the band’s more modern influences include Silvertide, Foo Fighters, and Alter-Bridge. Washro’s talent combines preserving the classic hard-rock from the past, while adding a pinch of their own ingredients. Washro was formed in 2005 with three members. The band wasn’t complete until they discovered the last two members in 2006. Through their music, they have grabbed attention from the mayor of their hometown, Hoffman Estates, and even play before the Gin Blossoms at a neighboring town’s annual summer festival. They have also have been recognized on various Internet radio stations. The hook is their high-energy performance that brings competition to the table, leaving a lasting impression on fans.

Artificial Sound
Electronica
Unsigned and Doin' Fine
At age 20, the clever soul behind the 1-boy wonder of Artificial Sound is well on his way to conquering every new artist’s obstacle: getting the heck out on the scene. A master mixer of electronic dance/house beats with a self-described, "interesting" sound, Artificial Sound sites fellow techno group Daft Punk as the inspiration behind hypnotic tracks like “Life of a Static Mind” and “New Dance 101.”
Missouri born and bred and based in Brighton (a mere 25 miles from his hometown of Springfield) Artificial Sound is currently cutting new beats to compile a demo for international release. He hones his creative energy in an effort to “get (the music) out there and allow others to hear it… (I started creating) these sounds for myself, for fun… but hey, if others wanna listen, why not give them the chance?” Artificial Sound demonstrates the same selfless attitude pioneered by trip-hoppers and electro lovers at raves around the world, making this band an Outer Post favorite.

Rogue Wave @ The Fillmore - San Francisco, CA 5/3/08 (Warning: This is really a write up of GOP)
San Francisco, California, United States
Even before Rouge Wave took the stage and delivered the goods, the Fillmore was treated to an opening performance from San Diego’s Grand Ole Party. Wholly Fuck. What a great band. Singer-drummer Kristin Gundred belted out much inde-soul on her way to becoming a classic front woman. This happy fan hasn’t hollered that loud or that often in forever. I actually shouted “good for you” from my perch in the balcony.
After the commotion died down, hometown heroes, Rouge Wave didn’t waste GOP’s lead in and set the stage ablaze in front of a piping hot, sell out crowd. Highlights for me include “Bird On a Wire” ending with the entire band pounding the percussion before rolling right into “Lake Michigan”. Way to rock the Fillmore everyone. I’m CT_Scott and I approve this message.
