we used to hang out at the best little dive bar...it was poorly lit with red candles, had an ample cross-section of music from johnny cash to bad religion playing on the jukebox, a killer dollar drink night every tuesday, and a convenient make out fence far enough from the door for privacy yet close enough to ditch your drunken mistake and head back in for a shot of whiskey.

but that was years ago.  and now the place teems with angsty hipsters wearing  fingerless mittens and their bangs flat ironed down across their post-adolescent pimply foreheads.

but times change and so do the bars i frequent.  so you can imagine my surprise when i saw little johnny, my favorite old bartender, from across the room at a different bar last night.  our eyes met, and then drifted.  did he remember me the way i fondly remember him?  overpouring well vodka and fake red bulls with a coors light for free?  i don't think so.  but there he was, a brief glimpse back to he glory days (if you consider "glory days" to be a six month stint in which you can't remember a single tuesday night).

This should be it's own topic, but I have no idea how to do that....

I don't usually get to go out often, seeing as up until April I was a full time student with a part time job (that started at 6am every weekend morning), but next Sunday I am attending a very exciting event at Lucky Bar in Victoria. The opening act is The Great Orbax, a freak show performer who opened for Sons of Butcher when I saw them last year at Lucky Bar. He is opening for Bloody Betty and the Deadly Sins, which is a Gorelesque (Gore + Burlesque). I've never been to a Burlesque show before, so I am very excited for this. The day after, I move to Dublin, Ireland...

I remember my bar and pub days they where great. I'm still young but the bar hopping and the pub days are all gone now. I wish I had them back again but time never stops and money is always short. I went to the same two spots live band and pool playing drinking corona's. I was always the first on the dance floor with my cousin Janice we had a blast every time. We always ended up at Danny's you know drunk and hungry LOL. I really do wish to have does days again they seem to go so fast and never a worry. I guess that's the way it is you just move on get jobs and the fun stops.
