So being that it is summer, like most college students I'm at home for break. With all this time on my hands I spend hours watching the T.V. guide channel while surfing the interweb. Just about ever other commercial that makes its way on to my television screen is a commercial for "The prevention of PMS symptoms." Under normal circumstances that wouldn't annoy me, however as of lately these commercials have been just plain ridiculous. Just how many women do you know go and get dressed to sit in a night club and talk about their PMS? I know my friends and I do that all the time.
News alert: this is real life -not Sex and The City. If you want me to talk to my doctor about PMS or birth control you need to find some other way of marketing it to me. Just because SJP and her former castmates talked candidly over cocktails does not mean I want a fake broad to inform me about my birth control in that manner. I understand that it is difficult to find a way to share information on that delicate subject without coming off as an asshole but there has got to be a better way. And I don’t mean having some self-important bimbo tell me that she went to talk to her doctor and I should too. Put a doctor on the screen and let them explain why this is the end-all-be-all med for me.
