The Outer Post - ESSAY QUESTION
On July 20th, 2001 George Bush stated to Business Week, "A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no doubt about it." Please respond to this quote while touching on your views of American Democracy.
The Outer Post - JUDGING
Essays will be judged on both style and content. Judges will look for writing that is creative, clear, articulate and logically organized.
The Outer Post - RULES
- Entrant must be enrolled in his or her first, second, third or fourth year of a 4-year college degree program at the time of entry.
- Entrant must be enrolled in some form of the following majors: Pre-Law, Political Science, History, Peace Studies, Diplomacy, International Relations, Sociology or another of the Social Sciences.
- Contest is open to students worldwide.
- The end of the essay entry must include: name and address of entrant; entrant's e-mail address (if available); name and address of entrant's university; and entrant's declared major.
- Essay must be no fewer than 600 and no more than 1,000 words in length, and must be typed.
- One entry per student, please.
- Essay must be solely the work of the entrant.
- Essay must be submitted no later than 11:59pm on July 31st, 2008.
- Decisions of the judges are final.
- Employees of The Outer Post. Com, its parent company, Cody Ventures Corporation, its board of directors and their immediate family members are not eligible for this contest.
- All entries become the property of The Outer Post. Com.
- Winners and other participants will be notified by August, 31st 2008.
