Personally, I don't waste my time searching for love, because well, I just don't give a shit. But if you're willing to be a whining puppy in a petshop window bearing the pathetic "love me" facial expression, Then i'll help you out. First of all, I'd just like to say stay away from internet dating sites, unless you have good reason (ie you're fugly or like little boys). If neither applies to you, get your lazy ass off the computer. GO OUT! Go somewhere where you're "type" would hang out. For example; if you're in search of someone athletic go to the gym or a park. For a music enthiuest, go to a concert or local show. (you get the point). Find someone who seems somewhat your type, and don't just go up to someone because they are hot, that makes you shallow and a moron, and well lets face it, they're probably out of your league anyways. Pay attention to people, what are they doing? If someone's reading a book don't just go up to them because you like books and hope for the best. Glance at what they are reading, have you read it? Go tell them that they have chosen a great book, or ask how the book is so far, or if they could reccomend something related to it. No matter what the situation, just try to break the ice and say something that doesn't scream DESPORATION. After you say something, pay attention to body language, if they respond and go right back to what they were doing, they're not interested. If they respond and then use their own line or ask a question back, that's interest. If there is an obvious connection, then exchange information. But how? Don't be a pathetic and cheesy and say "I lost my number, can I have yours". This is the right time for internet, since you've met them in person and are atleast 25% sure they're not a creeper, get an email address, myspace address or a screename. You're more likey to get one of those than a phone number. How you choose to go on from there is all you, be yourself and don't appear to eager, it's creepy. If everything works accordingly, name your first child after me.
